Rainbows for girls are aged 5-7 and these are the youngest members of Girl Guiding UK. They follow a programme called the Rainbow Jigsaw, which involves a wide range of activities and games. Being a Rainbow is all about learning, developing self confidence, building friendships and, of course, having lots of fun!
Rainbows make a simple promise after they have been in a few weeks. This is generally at the start of a night with parents/carers watching and then the rest of the evening is a party with games/food chosen by the ‘new’ Rainbows. Similarly when Rainbows are ready to move to Brownies those Rainbows choose the theme of the party and the games/food.
There is a waiting list and if your ‘child’ is over 6 we would recommend adding her name to one of the Brownie waiting lists as she will not get into Rainbows before she is 7.
